I agree with this question. I still confused, why a
big country like America has law that so not fair. Maybe not many people yet
knowing it, but this is true story about Dr. Aafia Shiddiqui. Who is she ? She
is a citizen of Pakistan that keep stay in America with her husband and her
three children. She was born in Pakistan forty years ago. She is the only
scientist in the world has PHD from Harvard University. She has 144
certificates and diploma of dignity. No women of any western equivalent and
comparable to her education.
On March, 30th 2003, she was arrested by
the FBI on charges of attempted murder to members of the military. At the time,
her husband was killed by the FBI in front of her and then she was separated
from her three children. The FBI told the media that Aafia and her family was
abducted and may be was dead, but in fact she is still alive because they are
captured by them with no proof of the allegations. From 2003 until 2008, Aafia
put in prison of Bagram, Afghanistan quietly. The prison exclusively for men,
and Aafia was the only woman who was in it. Bagram is a place where people who
are not guilty without evidence accused and imprisoned without knowing when
they would be free.
During five years, Aafia always tortured physically
and mentally. Raped everyday and forced to wear men’s bathroom that is easily
seen by the guards because the right has been denied as a woman. She had
suffered a loss of memory, probably still to this day. When there are four people
of the prisoners to escape successful, they were revealed to the media that
there was a woman. Although they have never met her, but they always hear her
scream everyday and they know that Aafia is a citizen of Pakistan, and she is a
mother who was separated with three children.
Now, because of the media whole the world already
knows where the presence of a neurological scientist from Harvard University
that had been abducted ten years ago and she was still alive until now. But
with her condition who not the same again like before. The plan is currently
the British will trying to help Aafia for free and still in the process of
freedom. But until now, she still don’t know where her three children and the
media also doesn’t know, they are still alive of died.
